Hi folks ! This is Faye,
( Last class Mr. P told us to bring a measuring cup and an empty water bottle to do some fun activity but it was cancelled because there is no enough time to do it.)
So today in class we just started a new unit. It's about "Relations and Functions". Well, this is sounded familiar to me. I'm pretty sure I have studied this before. So, I got an idea of what is this about. Mr P. explained that....
- "Relations is a set of inputs and outputs, often written as ordered pairs (input, output). We can also represent a relation as a mapping diagram or a graph"
"Funtions is a relation in which each input has only one output.
First thing we did was to answer a math problem about coordinates. Then Mr. P showed us a picture of coordinate plane.
"This is a coordinate plane. It has two axes and four quadrants. The two number lines form the axes. The horizontal number line is called the x-axis and the vertical number line is called the y-axis. |
The center of the coordinate plane is called the origin. It has the coordinates of (0,0). |
Locations of points on the plane can be plotted when one coordinate from each of the axis are used. This set of x and y values are called ordered pairs."
Then, on the projector Mr. P gave us some multiple questions for finding the correct coordinates on every coordinate planes.
After that he gave us two worksheets, one is for homework.
Then we got our test back ! "well, i'm happy about my mark.." :]
